Description: Chana Dal are split yellow peas that are pretty much like chickpeas. They should be soaked in water for a full day, after that their cooking time is roughly 50 minutes.
General Dal Recipe: Sauté onions and garlic in a thin layer of oil or ghee for a few minutes. Add spices and stir them in well before you add the lentils, crushed tomatoes and water. Let this boil with a lid till the lentils are soft and the consistency saucy. Add salt to taste and also limejuice, coconut milk and coriander leaves after your own preferences.

Red Chilli - Good for the metabolism, better for Vata and Kapha heavy bodies.
