Description: Masur/Masoor Dal or red lentils are among the easiest lentils to prepare. They require no soaking and only about 20 minutes of cooking time to be ready. They also have a very mild flavor that does not take over and are therefore easy to add to various dishes. Can advantageously be combined with e.g. Moong dal to get a more varied dish with different vitamins and protein. In Indian cuisine (known as masur dal) they are almost irreplaceable. A good recipe idea would be, for example, a carrot and lentil puree or hummus made with lentils instead of chickpeas. The red lentils, by the way, can no longer grow.
