Product information: "Tigernut Breakfast Bowl Basic"
Tigernut Breakfast Bowl Basic
The tiger nut, also called "earth almond", (Chufa) sounds like a nut, but is not a nut. This is because it belongs to the cypergrass genus and grows as a small tuber at the end of the grass root, similar to potatoes. Best of all, it makes your porridge sweet, as tiger nuts already taste naturally sweet. Plus, they give you a lot of fiber and a perfect start to the day in less than 3 minutes: hot water on the porridge, let it swell, done!
This Tigernut Breakfast Bowl Basic tastes of apple and cinnamon. In Ayurveda, the traditional Indian teaching, cinnamon is considered a warming spice from the inside out.
Govinda's tigernuts come from a cultivation project in Niger and help many people there with a fixed salary, water access and solar energy. The tiger nut farm is about 355 hectares in size and organic tiger nuts grow on 74 hectares of it. To keep the soil healthy and fertile, Govinda's partners grow tiger nuts in rotation with other staple foods: millet, sorghum or legumes, for example.
