Description: Holistic Lactovitalis® pro 20 billion lactic acid bacteria is produced using a patented technology that ensures that 90% of the lactic acid bacteria reach the colon alive. This product contains at least 20 billion lactic acid bacteria from no less than 12 different strains in each dose, including the well-studied L. rhamnosus GG. Lactovitalis® pro now contains two new bacterial species, Lactobacillus reuteri and Lactobacillus fermentum. Both these bacteria are well known for their health benefits. Lactobacillus reuteri is a naturally occurring bacterium in the human gastrointestinal tract, known to help maintain a balanced microflora and support gut health. Lactobacillus fermentum helps to maintain a balanced gut flora. A well-balanced gut flora is crucial for good digestion, overall health and not least for the immune system. This is because up to 80 percent of the immune system is located in connection with the intestine, mainly in the small intestine. Different bacteria have different effects in the intestine, therefore the number of different strains and also the choice of strains is more important than the total number of bacteria in a product.
