Advice from Yogiraj - for the grip
A good grip on the yoga mat helps you move through and hold various positions easier. What a good grip also varies from person to person. It can depend on experience, technique, handcream or how sweaty you are on your palms. What holds true for yoga mats in general is that their grip usually improves after some use. A mat has to be broken in, like most things. So give yourself some time with the mat and thank you for choosing a sustainable yoga mat for your health.
Cleaning: Clean the mat with Manduka Mat Restore or a diluted organic apple cider vinegar (50/50) and a moist cloth or sponge. We don't recommend using only water because it makes the material dry out easier. Don't put the organic mat in your washing machine and don't wash it with water as it quickens the bio-degradation. Don't expose it to long hours of direct sunlight. If it is wet, let it try before it is rolled up.
